It is with much sadness we bring you the news that the wonderful Les Jennings has died at the age of 91.
Les had many varied interests and amongst those he was very committed to the Cliff Railway. He was a member of the Friends Committee before becoming a Director of the Community Interest Company at its inception.
Over many years he was a regular visitor to the railway assisting with the operation and participating in all the events that took place there. He w…as in his element meeting all the passengers and being part of this enterprise. Everyone took to him and enjoyed his extensive repertoire of jokes.
Les had been ill for some time and over the last year or so we have missed his presence and support, his humour and companionship.
All those connected with the railway send their condolences to his family at this very difficult time.
Babbacombe Cliff Railway won’t be the same without him.
Here’s Les (far right) looking particularly dapper at one of our Agatha Christie Festival events.
